Let the New Academic Year Begin...

The new academic year has started for a week now and I have already got a lot to get on with. As part of my course, I am taking the machine learning and AI module which focuses on the maths and concepts on traditional machine learning techniques. Also, I am going to do a research project on deep learning. The inital plan is to create a convolutional neural network (CNN) that generates some form of ranking. This is then fed into another CNN, which should use the ranking information as an intermediate layer to resemble an image based on the rating. (Well, at least that is what I think I am doing. Like any projects, no one knows where it will end up until there is some concrete results.) I cannot wait to truly master machine learning! :P

That aside, I shall look into applying for graduate jobs. I am nearly done with updating my CV [ref][FIXED 2017-08-09] Now pointing to the correct link.[/ref], all I need now is to allocate some time to find and apply to interesting jobs. Apart from online job hunting, I am also going to attend some physical fairs. A confirmed one is TechSPARK's SPARK Skills Festival and hopefully Silicon Milkroundabout would like to see me at their events too!

Even more exciting - later this month, I will be going on a choir tour with Bath Abbey Choir to Paris. I cannot wait for the chance to sing in the famous Notre-Dame Cathedral!
